KAMPTAL DAC GRÜNER VELTLINER
The classical expression of Austrian culture of wine – a perfect food companion for every day paired with an easy drinkability.
In order to be a representative of the whole Danube appellation KAMPTAL, vineyards and grapes from the lower part of the valley, as well as grapes from the upper and higher altitude part of valley are used. The grapes from the lower part bring the maturity, whereas grapes from the upper part of the valley brings us the freshness in this wine. The ‘classical’ KAMPTAL wine is low in Alcohol (11,5 – 12,5%) and has a pleasant but not obtrusive aroma and fruit character and therefore is a perfect food companion.

Ripe pear, lemon zest and salty yeast on the nose signal freshness and savoriness. The palate is lively with slight spritz and lemon freshness while the dry finish brings the saltiness to the fore.
WINE ADVOCATE /ROBERT PARKER. rating 87
The 2018 Gobelsburg Kamptal Grüner Veltliner offers a clear and elegant, Kamptal-coolish nose of fully ripe fruits. Rather lithe more than medium-bodied on the palate, this is an elegant and fruity, stimulatingly salty and refreshing white with fine grip on the finish.

WINE ADVOCATE/Robert Parker: Rating 84
The 2015 Grüner Veltliner Schlosskellerei Gobelsburg displays a clear and crisp fruit aroma of mango and peaches. Round and tropical in its fruit expression, this is a medium-bodied, pretty charming everyday white with banana aromas and a crowd-pleasing sweetness.

WINE ENTHUSIAST: Rating 92
Ripe, juicy notes of yellow pear on the nose are shot through with lively, zesty lemon freshness. Smatterings of white pepper play around the sleek edges of this slender but super-juicy wine. This is totally enlivening and sings with fruit and freshness-with all the verve of its vintage.
WINE SPECTATOR: Rating 89
Emerald-hued, with lush flavors of apple tart, lemon-meringue and dark currant that are broad and well-spiced. The creamy finish lingers with notes of allspice. Drink now through 2018.
VINOUS/David Schildknecht: Rating 89
Lentil and wax bean drenched in fresh lime and crab apple juices characterize this buoyant, polished, zingy bottling, which is more refined texturally as well as clearer and juicier in finish than the corresponding generic sold in European markets under the name “Domäne Gobelsburg”. Inner-mouth aromas of green herbs and nips of lime zest and white pepper complement the wine’s appealing succulence. (The impressive generic bottlings incorporating purchased fruit that are familiar from American markets under the “Gobelsburger” label have been rechristened “Schlosskellerei Gobelsburg” because, in keeping with recent legislation, the old designation is now reserved for wine grown in Gobelsburg the village.)

VIKTOR SIEGL:
Commences with a whole panoply of yellow fruits, among the most prominent physalis and greengage, fruity-sweet and well-balanced; fine-fibred, really meaty and approachable, much fruit core and vibrancy, thoroughly delightful, some length.

VIKTOR SIEGL:
Extremely fragrant with whiffs of juicy mirabelle plum and physalis. So seductive and openly expressive with a pleasant filigree touch. Compact yet lively and robust. Fine stone fruit notes. Layers of subtle undertones and a nice racy finish.
PARKER: Rating 89
The 2012 Gruner Veltliner Gobelsburger offers apple-y juiciness mingled with lentil and turnip, and wreathed in herbs and flowers. The soft feel typical for this vintage makes for a caressing finish, yet it is also buoyant, clear and refreshing. As it does so often, this outstanding value offers a mouthwatering saline and intriguingly crystalline streak, and should perform delightfully through at least 2015.
