DATA PROTECTION STATEMENT

INTRODUCTION

The protection of your personal data is not merely a legal requirement (see the EU General Data Protection Regulation) but also an important concern for us. Therefore, to the extent possible, we refrain from collecting your data on this website or making your use of it personalisable.
Whenever the processing and temporary storage of data is required for technical or legal reasons, it is done in anonymised form or in one that is allowed or called for by law.

COOKIES

Cookies are small files that enable device-specific information to be stored on the user’s device (PC, laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc.). On the one hand, cookies aid in making the website more user-friendly. On the other, they enable us to collect and analyse data about usage in order to improve the site.
You can control how cookies are placed. First, you can expressly grant this website permission to store a cookie on your device. In addition, most browsers provide an option to restrict or completely prevent the storage of cookies. However, please be aware that without cookies, use of the website, particularly ease of use, may be limited, even though this website essentially can function without cookies.
Specifically, this website sets cookies that are automatically deleted when you close the browser (session cookies) or after at most 24 hours (persistent cookies). The cookie that stores your consent to the use of cookies is valid for one month.

ANTI-SPAM, SECURITY MEASURES

In order to protect the website against spam and against other attacks on data security, we use a program (or plug-in) that reliably identifies spam and blocks it. The data that need to be collected for this purpose are exclusively processed locally (i.e. on our own server) and are not personalisable.
The security tool that we use to ward off hacking attempts currently compares the user’s IP address with a database (black list) in the U.S. in order to ensure that the visitor to the site is not a compromised user.
The security tool that we use to ward off hacking attempts compares the user’s IP address with a database (black list) outisde the EU (third country) in order to ensure that the visitor to the site is not a compromised user.
The company that develops and maintains this security tool is certified according to the EU-US Privacy Shield and provides its services in full compliance with the rules and regulataions of the EU GDPR (EU-DSGVO).

WEB ANALYSIS

We consider it to be a legitimate concern that we want to know how our website is used, which enables us to improve it to meet user needs. Therefore, on this website, we use an analysis tool that stores data, but only on the local server. We have intentionally refrained from using Google Analytics, because we want to be sure that third parties are not able to pool data.
Here as well, the data are stored, processed, and evaluated in a completely anonymised manner. In other words, the data cannot be attributed to a specific user.

YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to request access to and rectification or erasure of personal data or restriction of processing or to object to processing as well as the right to data portability (unless we are required by law to retain the data). Should you have concerns that our website is treating your data in a manner that is not in conformity with the law, please contact our data protection officer (phone number and email address can be found on our contact page).
If, despite all of our efforts, you believe that the processing of your data violates the law of data protection or that your rights concerning the protection of your data have been otherwise infringed, please lodge your complaint with the supervisory authority. In Austria, this is the Datenschutzbehörde.
